Bergamo - an animated visualizations of sound.
Score featured: Commemorations for flutes, bass clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, viola, and violoncello
The sonic image I picture this piece creating is one not entirely dissimilar to how one would imagine thousands of feathers thrown out into the air on a day with
heavy wind. Or underneath huge trees on an autumn day where leaves spiral their way down and swirl around in the air. It is a sounding result that is at once filled with movement, constantly moving forward. Without a clear order or pattern. It is instead the consistent uncertainty and movement. The lack of repeating patterns, yet the fact that there is always some movement to focus on.

Occasionally, certain items will come closer to each other – creating a collaborative dance. Other times it will lead to moments when only one will have a noticeable movement, whilst a sudden vacancy might be left from the others, either not currently caught within a gust of wind, having instead been blown away far distances, or having already fallen quickly down to the ground. It is towards this result the performers aim when making their musical and structural decisions during the performance.
